No Positive Conclusion - Voters Throughout the US Express Worries Regarding the Funding Lapse

American politicians from each political sides are pointing fingers as numerous of workers are on furlough and the shutdown drags on with no end in prospect.

Democrats have resisted to endorse the GOP budget proposal unless ending medical assistance which they argue many employed households rely on are renewed.

Republicans want the opposition to approve a temporary measure initially and then they can negotiate the financial aid.

A Republican Voter, Forty-Nine, Republican

This California voter is anxious about the extensive effect of the shutdown on regular citizens.

The Republicans have fifty-three yeas, they require sixty to enact the legislation. Could it be that difficult to find common ground over 7 supporters so that US citizens aren't being hurt?

If this drags on for another week or two, the bottom line is US citizens are being affected, American citizens are being touched by this and a leader must step up to be the grown-up in the negotiations.

I feel sometimes politicians are so distant from us, the common folk going about their day, so they forget what the hardship is like and I feel they need to remember that, especially if it's a large number of workers that are unpaid.

That's a significant number of Americans not getting paid, that's a large group of Americans failing to contribute their earnings toward the market. Americans are just being harmed.

A Democratic Voter, Twenty-Two, Democratic Supporter

This Old Line State voter acknowledges this funding lapse will bring suffering to many US citizens, but she believes it is a necessary battle.

I'm nervous because there is no positive result with the government being shut down.

I'm extremely anxious about what's going to occur to poor households, scholars who rely on federal scholarships and government workers.

But this is a worthwhile battle for the Democratic Party to wage. Naturally positions are going to be eliminated, services are going to face budget shortfalls, which is so disappointing but I feel that is blood that the Democratic Party would have on their conscience.

I believe it's worth it to persist, this is communicating a powerful statement to their voters.

A Democratic Voter, Thirty-Six, Democrat

This California citizen is concerned the Democrats do not have tactics in their closure strategy.

I am unsure if the Senate Democratic leader has a strategy for an off-ramp to negotiations or how to get the group out of this.

I am uncertain if the Democratic Party have a effective narrative to the citizens on what they're attempting.

In terms of online communication, the Republicans clearly have the advantage. The messaging is not effective on what Democrats are trying to do.

I'm presently at a stage where I'm kind of concerned because funding lapses hurt anyone.

I'm going to be okay, but for the rest who depends on the public services, who plans to tour a National Park or gallery, they're going to be affected, if not currently, then in the short term.

And that is unreasonable.

A Republican Voter, Mid-Fifties, GOP Supporter

This Indiana citizen says the left are engaging in partisan games with ordinary people and their well-being.

This is usual political maneuvering. It is a continuing resolution they are attempting to approve, that the Democrats oppose.

Everyone's referring to it as a leadership-induced halt, it's not on the GOP, it's on the Democratic leader, he's proceeding to maintain influence within his group - in the interim, people are in the uncertainty.

I don't see that this is going to conclude.

The real people are caught in the middle, and the left are prepared to sacrifice them. They're not doing themselves any advantages when they truly block issues like this.

Trey Stewart, Twenty-Seven, Democratic Supporter

This Sunshine State resident says the Democratic approach is a tough but required one and one that affects his sister, who has been sent home because of the funding gap.

Democrats' strategy is a tough one, but sadly it is a required one.

They have not been able to do much to halt or block the president's priorities.

I support their strategy, I endorse their reasoning for proceeding.

The administration leader is a bully and if you yield to a bully he's going to demand additional concessions, that's how aggressive people work. So you have to resist a aggressor to make him realise you're not going to surrender for free.

The juncture when it becomes too much is when the Democratic Party start losing the narrative struggle, if the story shifts to criticizing the left then it might be appropriate to end the standoff.

Rom Solene, 64, Republican

This Arizona resident is unaffected by the shutdown so he is supportive of the closure lasting a while, if that is what it requires for Republicans to prevail.

I would think after the year that the left have had, I would have thought that they would have gone along with the continuing resolution, at least in the short term.

I am all for what the GOP are pursuing, I'm fully supportive of cutting government spending.

The left have grown so antagonistic of the current president, no matter what he offers I think they would look for excuses to battle him.

I myself am unaffected by the urgency that some people are, this doesn't directly impact.

What little we do dependent on the government - what it does provide for us - the shutdown is will not affect us {whatsoever|at all|in any
