Super Mario Galaxy Film Teaser Is Here, Unveiling Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast

Nintendo alongside Illumination shared the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. The reveal happened in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that centered on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.

Following up on the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will send Mario to the distant reaches of the cosmos. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.

An Interstellar Journey Based on Classic Games

Much like the Wii-era games that serve as its inspiration, Mario will leave behind the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. On his epic voyage, he will meet again some well-known personalities, such as the Luma, a popular character from the first movie.

But it appears Mario and his sibling Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who seemingly utilizes powers related to metal. Interestingly, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not exclusively centered on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also contains hints to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.

All-Star Vocal Ensemble Come Back and Grow

The feature will welcome back of the primary vocal talent, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.

Mario's Major Moment

Mario's latest cinematic adventure is set to release close to the 40th anniversary of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 is shaping up to be a significant year for Mario and his friends.

Nintendo confirmed a set of three fresh titles publicly declared for the upcoming year, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

Launch Date Set

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2026.
